King campaigns for U.S. Senate seat

An “example of the American dream” and competitor of Senator Raphael Warnock, Kelvin King made a pit stop at Mystic Mountain Pizza in Blue Ridge on his Uncancel America tour Saturday, August 14.

While there, King spoke with several local residents who came out to hear and question King’s views and motivation for challenging Warnock.

That main motivation, King said, is “cancel culture,” which refers to the withdrawing of support for individuals, specifically those with a following, after they’ve said or done something unpopular to a majority.

“Cancel culture has taken over our country,” King said. “It’s a mess, and we need to stop it, and I can speak out against it. We need to unite and uncancel America with our tour.”

In addition, if elected, he said his goals will be to “unite our party, and unite the state under good, solid American principles: freedom, opportunity and American exceptionalism. Those are the tenets of the American dream. That’s what I’m running on, is protecting and preserving the American dream. That’s something that rises above all the in-fighting.”

Born in Macon, Georgia, to a 15-year-old mother, King is a member of the Republican party, a U.S. Air Force veteran and founder of a Marietta, Georgia, commercial construction firm.
