Adopt A Pet

In the past week, officers brought in 12 dogs, some of which were puppies. Four dogs were reclaimed and three were transfered to Tri State Pet Rescue. Animal Control Officer JR Cornett said the facility has heat and air conditioning for the comfort of the dogs in every season.

Life Care Center accreditated

Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown recently earned accreditation from The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates the safety and quality of services of over 21,000 health care organizations and programs across the United States.

The 25th Annual Community Services Conference allowed the Fannin County community to learn more about the positive and negative aspects of social media and about the variety of community service organizations in the area.

UNG ranked 16th in South

The University of North Georgia (UNG) ranked 16th among all public regional universities in the South on the U.S. News & World Report 2020 Best Colleges list this year. The list, released September 9, showed a move of four spots up the list from last year.
