Fundraiser golf tournament raises over $20,000

The Habitat for Humanity of Fannin and Gilmer Counties, along with The Open Arms Home for Children, held their first annual golf tournament at the beautiful Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course in Mineral Bluff.

Habitat for Humanity and The Open Arms Home for Children representatives thank their many sponsors, auction participants, players, volunteers, and Old Toccoa Farm for their generosity and contributing to raising more than $20,000 for both charities.

The tournament hosted 160 players during a period lasting more than 12 hours.

The winners of the day are as follows:

9 a.m. results

•First place: United Community Bank Team, consisting of Stephen Nazerian, Brandon Bradburn, Buddy Linderman and Matt Cook;

•Second place: Escape to Blue Ridge Team, consisting of Russ DeSena, Hunter DeSena, Peter Knutzen and Howard Hardaway;

•Third place tie: Edward Jones Team, consisting of Mike Hamby, Tim Hughes, Tim Anderson and Rick Curtis; and,

•Third place tie: Thomas Arp / Country Financial Team, consisting of Thomas Arp, Morgan Arp, Paul Gribble and Christie Gribble.
