    Shop With a Cop volunteers and children packed Walmart in Blue Ridge Saturday, December 3, for the annual event that makes sure less fortunate children have a Merry Christmas.

    Children were treated to a shopping trip for toys and clothes, a lunch, and families were sent home with food boxes.

    The annual effort is sponsored by the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, but volunteers come from all over Fannin County to make sure it is a success.

    Sheriff’s deputy and School Resource Officer Commander Lieutenant Darvin Couch praised the community for their contributions this year. “The outpouring of support has been amazing. We have been truly blessed,” he said.

    He said a special thank you to Walmart Manager Sherry Neal for helping the shopping process go smoothly.
