Steve Gooch chosen Senate Majority Leader

Steve Gooch, who has represented Fannin County and the rest of the 51st District in the Georgia Senate since 2010, has been elected Senate Majority Leader. The Senate  Republican Caucus elected its new leadership Friday, November 11. Gooch was elected Majority Whip by the caucus in 2014.

David Ralston remembered

People came from Blue Ridge, Fannin County and all over Georgia Sunday to pay their final respects to David Ralston. Hundreds filed into the Performing Arts Center on the Fannin County High School campus for the funeral service.

Early voting starts Monday in runoff

Fannin County voters are being asked to return to the polls December 6 to cast their ballots in the runoff election between Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock for a U.S. Senate seat.

Incumbent Post 2 Commissioner Glenn Patterson easily swept every Fannin County voting precinct in his re-election bid. Voters returned the Republican to his Board of Commissioners seat, conquering Democrat challenger Larry Syputa 10,658 votes to 1,736 votes.
