Farm Bureau seeking students to compete in writing competition

The Georgia Farm Bureau is looking for high school aged artists and middle school aged writers to compete for cash prizes. Each contest is open for those enrolled in public, private or home schools. Contestants must enter in either the county they live or the county they attend school only.

American Legion looking for sponsors

American Legion Post 96 of Copperhill is looking for a sponsorship of $350 for a high school junior to attend the American Legion Boy’s State. Boy’s State 2020 will be held in Cookeville, Tennessee at Tennessee Technological University in May. The $350 must be posted by March 30.
Fannin County High School’s Engineering program was recently awarded a Girl-Powered robotics grant through Vex Robotics and Robot Events for $1,000 and have created a girls team that will compete in compeitions this year. FCHS gets Girl-Powered robotics grant

Fannin County High School’s Engineering program was recently awarded a Girl-Powered robotics grant through Vex Robotics and Robot Events for $1,000.  The grant is to be used to form a robotics team of at least 50% female students to compete in the VEX robotics program.

Adopt A Pet

There are many great dogs waiting for a loving home at Fannin County Animal Control. In the past week, officers brought in four dogs with one reclaimed.  Animal Control Officers and volunteers alike hope folks may be willing to open their home and their hearts to the dogs in their facility.

Hoppers receives Community Beautification Award

I n December, UGA Extension Agent, Ashley Hoppers, received the Community Beautification Award from the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation at the 2019 Awards Luncheon at the Marriot Century Center in Atlanta.
