Baugh House closed for season

Fannin County Historical Foundation, located in the historic Baugh House, 411 West First Street, Blue Ridge, is closed until April 1. Due to insufficient funding and low traffic volume, Foundation President Janie Turner made the decision to close the museum throughout the winter months.

Fannin Public Library accepting historic photos for project

Fannin County Public Library (FCPL) is accepting historic photographs as part of the Fannin County Historic Photographic Digitization Project. Anyone with photos pertaining to Fannin County history is encouraged to make an appointment to have the photo digitized.
West Fannin Elementary student Kaylee Trotter won the Fannin County Spelling Bee Friday, January 10. The winning word was “beatboxing.” Trotter is shown along side Principal Alison Danner and Fannin Director of Instructional Services and Policy Sarah Welch. Trotter advances to region competition at Georgia Highlands College February 22.

Thefts plague Faninn

Fannin County Public Works Director Zack Ratcliff said Fannin County is currently experiencing an issue with road signs being stolen. In 2019, the county reported over 150 stolen road signs.
