American Legion Post 96 of Copperhill is looking for a sponsorship of $350 for a high school junior to attend the American Legion Boy’s State.
Boy’s State 2020 will be held in Cookeville, Tennessee at Tennessee Technological University in May.
The $350 must be posted by March 30.
The Boy’s State features “selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students. ... Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law-enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, choruses and recreational programs,” said American Legion Post 96 Commander Deb Fitt.
The post is also looking for either land or a building in Copperhill on Highway 64 or Highway 68 to host their meetings. Any donations are tax deductible.
Anyone serving or have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces and were honorably discharged are encouraged to join the American Legion.
