Fannin County High School student Steven Setser passed the Adobe Certification exam in Premier Pro CC2018. Premier Pro is an industry leading software for professional video editing, and Setser’s certification is recognized around the world. He is completing the Audio Video Technology and Film Pathway at Fannin County High School, serves as the President of the Technology Student Association, and has been instrumental in operating Rebel Radio 92.7 FM and launching their new YouTube channel Fannin Rebel TV.

Commissioners agree to audit, nurse, cameras

The Fannin County Board of Commissioners voted to hire Bates, Carter & Company to perform the county’s annual audit for $55,000 during a meeting Tuesday, December 10. Three other proposals for auditing services were received by the board.

Fannin library hosts themed events through December

The Fannin County Public Library will have a Lego Club, Thursday, December 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will provide the Legos; Pop-Up Story-time at Starbucks will be held Friday, December 20, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The story will be about Winter and Everything Nice.

Family and friends gathered Monday, December 16, to honor the memory of Robert Atkinson, Renea Greiner and Michelle Seay, who died in a December 19, 2018, plane crash near the Blairsville Municipal Airport.

Four McCaysville police officers presented the Medal of Valor

Four McCaysville police officers, including the police chief, have been awarded Medals of Valor for their actions in August.
