Group to discuss living with local black bears

Seeing a Black Bear in the Blue Ridge Mountains during spring time can be about as common as spotting a raccoon out at night.

With that being said, Appalachia Georgia Friends of the Bears is inviting folks to join them in an informative discussion Saturday, January 25, at Fannin County Recreation Department, 370 Tom Boyd Rd, Blue Ridge, in the multi-purpose room at 3 p.m.

The room can only occupy 40 people, so come early.

Discussion will address living with black bears and include basic Black Bear facts, human and bear conflicts, identifying problems, rules and legal obligations as some topics for discussion.
