Road extensions finished, chimps need more water

Fannin County Water Authority met Wednesday, January 15, for the first meeting of the New Year to discuss some old business, approve invoices and hear from Project Chimps Head of Property and Assets Christy Jellets.

Zoning request granted, loan amounts increase

The Green Rocks, LLC. rezoning request heard at the Planning Commissions December 3 meeting divided City of Blue Ridge Council members 3-1 during a regular meeting January 14. The city heard a request from Green Rocks, LLC. Representative Matthew Cole about plans to turn property at 51 Ada St.

Patterson’s concern reveals grant questions

Former McCaysville City Councilman Rodney Patterson has repeated his concerns over the city receiving the $500,000 grant for the city park.  Patterson had raised questions over reimbursement from the state at the December council meeting.

Polk leaders fire back at attacks

Polk County commissioners and the county executive fired back at social media accusations over trash left along a road in the Stansbury Mountain area of East Polk County. Their comments came during the regular county commission meeting Thursday, January 16, in Benton.

Fannin hires architect for $66,000

The Fannin County Board of Commissioners voted to hire Sutton Architectural Services, Inc. to complete a pre-design phase on the Whitepath building that the county purchased last year.
