COVID-19 cases up in Fannin, down in schools

Increases in COVID-19 cases have hit a new high across Fannin County while new cases have decreased among students and staff in Fannin County schools. 280 new cases were reported in Fannin County for the two-week period ending Friday, September 3, by the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH).

West Fannin Elementary School (WFES) hosted a “Bravo Biscuit Breakfast” Tuesday, August 31, for the 10 students and parents who completed the summer reading program at the Fannin County Public Library. These students completed a Bingo Board, turned in a book review, and read all summer long.

Dr. William “Bill” Whaley, a well-known member of Fannin County’s medical community for many years, has announced his candidacy for Post 4 on the Blue Ridge City Council. He will appear on the November 2 city General Election ballot.
