The Fannin County Republican Party is sponsoring a GOP Fall Festival Saturday, September 18, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Epworth Community Club in Epworth.
Republican Party Chairman Frank Wood said this week that the event was originally planned as a single-precinct meet and greet, but support from party leaders grew and the festival was born.
The day’s activities will include food, speeches by candidates, music headlined by the Blue Ridge Grass Band, a cakewalk, dunkin’ booth, and a car cruise-in.
There will also be a silent auction.
The program will begin at 11:30 a.m. with opening ceremonies followed by speakers including Georgia Speaker of the House and District 7 Representative David Ralston, U.S. Senate candidates Kelvin King and Gary Black, and Georgia Secretary of State candidates Jody Hice and David Belle Isle.
Food for the day will include BBQ, hotdogs, chips, soft drinks, and water.
Besides the dunkin’ booth, there will be a hunter’s special and corn hole matches.
Guests can bring lawn chairs and sit outside to enjoy the festivities or relax in the air conditioning inside the community club building.
There will also be a location set up for voter registration.
“Let’s get together for a time of community fellowship and mingle,” Wood said.
