Two sentenced for dumping trash in Polk County

Two of the individuals accused of being responsible for a huge trash dumping site near Shuler Creek plead guilty in federal court in Chattanooga Tuesday, August 17, according to Polk County Executive Robby Hatcher.

Michael Earley, McCaysville chief of police, has been appointed chairman of the Traffic Safety Committee for the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.

School adopts budget and millage rate

The Fannin County Board of Education (FCBOE) unanimously approved the rollback millage rate, the FY 2022 budget, the purchase of a special needs equipped school bus, and a contribution for a full-time AmeriCorps member serving with Georgia 4-H in Fannin County.
