Thursday morning, August 26, Jackson was getting ready to go to school when he collapsed in the shower.

McCaysville budget proposal shows expenses up $550,000, revenue up $66,000

McCaysville City Council members are set to approve a 2021-’22 proposed budget that includes expense increases of $549,545.21 over 2021-’22, while revenue is projected to only increase $65,929.35.

Voter registration open in Blue Ridge

City of Blue Ridge residents have until Monday, October 4, to register for the November 2 election, and early voting begins October 11.
Residents should register to vote by 5 p.m. October 4 at the Fannin County Board of Elections office in the courthouse at 400 West Main Street in Blue Ridge.

Adopt A Pet

Make a difference in the life of a dog at Fannin County Animal Control by volunteering or adopting one.
All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.
This past week, no dogs were taken in, but two were adopted and another was reclaimed.
