Gingerbread house builders invited to annual contest

Light Up Blue Ridge is calling all gingerbread house builders to enter Blue Ridge’s 4th Annual Gingerbread House Contest. Following judging, each house will be displayed in the Blue Ridge Gingerbread Village at the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association’s Art Center.

Feed Fannin buys local produce

This past June, Feed Fannin began purchasing needed produce from local farmers. Although the organization produced some 7,500 pounds of food in their own garden, more was, and is, needed in order to keep Fannin County Family Connection’s food pantry stocked.

Shirts raising funds for Scearce and his family

Blue Ridge Police Department Captain Robbie Stuart has helped design T-shirts in honor of Blue Ridge Chief of Police Johnny Scearce. Scearce was transported to Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Tuesday, October 13, following complications.

Sugar Creek fire leads to arson charge

A warrant charging a Fannin County man with arson has been taken as the result of a fire at 3427 Sugar Creek Road Monday, October 12. Investigator Gary Edwards of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office said Sergeant John Bramlett responded to a report of arson at the residence around 10:30 a.m.

Fannin County voters have come out in full swing over the past week to cast their ballots early in the 2020 General Election.
