FCHS drama students to perform

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Drama department will be performing two productions to kick off the holiday season at the high school’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). “Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells Batman Smells” will be performed Friday, December 3, at 6 p.m. and  Sunday, December 5, at 1 p.

Amy Allen named at Copper Basin High

Kindergarten teacher and Copper Basin High School alumna Amy Allen is Copper Basin Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year. “She has earned the respect of students and peers with her energy, attitude and eagerness to help everyone succeed,” Principal Janessa Nipper said of Allen.

Parades highlight weekend

Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend for the 62nd annual Copperhill Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade and for “Christmas in Ducktown.” With this year’s theme being “Centennial Christmas: Serving the Basin for 100 Years,” the Kiwanis parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, starting at 2 p.m.
