McCaysville City Council’s proposed ordinance to increase some water tap-on fees by $200 will have the first of two readings Tuesday, December 14, at 7 p.m.
The ordinance also notes that bore fees and pavement cutting will be determined “at the time of installation and/or bore as quoted by either the city or outside contractor” to reflect the actual cost to bore with city equipment or at contractor direction for both water taps and sewer taps.
The proposed fees for connecting to city water are:
•3/4 inch connection (residential) inside city limits, $1,400;
•3/4 inch connection (residential) outside city limits, $1,700;
•3/4 inch connection (commercial) inside city limits, $1,700; and,
•3/4 inch connection (commercial) outside city limits, $1,700.
The current fees for connecting to city water are:
•3/4 inch connection (residential) inside city limits, $1,200;
•3/4 inch connection (residential) outside city limits, $1,500;
•3/4 inch connection (commercial) inside city limits, $1,500; and,
•3/4 inch connection (commercial) outside city limits, $1,500.
The tap-on fee for three to six inch connections to the city sewer service will remain at $1,500 for all customers.
