Representatives of the Blue Ridge Mountains Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, presented Fannin County Firefighter Bradley Beaver with a Fire Safety Commendation award at the fire department’s annual Christmas banquet Thursday, December 9. Presenting the award were Stephen P. Weaver, center, and Sid Turner. The award honored Beaver, “in recognition of accomplishments or outstanding contributions to protect human life and property by preventing injuries or casualties due to fire.

Fannin County Animal Control Interim Manager J.R. Cornett invites the public to come see the Christmas tree decorated outside of the facility. Additionally, volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours. This past week, two dogs were taken in.
Fannin County Young Farmers Association (FCYFA) President Kenny Queen was named as the Georgia Young Farmer North Region Runner Up in the President’s Award Category for 2021 at the Georgia Young Farmer North Region Caucus held in Dawsonville, Georgia, November 4. Queen has been the FCYFA president since the association’s beginning four years ago. He has worked diligently to promote agriculture in the community as well as attending both regional and state events.

Love Light tree helps bring hope to Fannin County students

Shirley Copeland called the hospital auxiliary’s Love Light program, “probably the most important thing that we do” other than daily  tasks at Fannin Regional Hospital.
