City of Blue Ridge residents have until Monday, October 4, to register for the November 2 election, and early voting begins October 11.
Residents should register to vote by 5 p.m. October 4 at the Fannin County Board of Elections office in the courthouse at 400 West Main Street in Blue Ridge.
Early voting will take place Monday, October 11, through October 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at city hall, 480 West First Street.
Absentee ballots will also be available at city hall beginning October 11.
Candidates are as follows:
•Mayor, Donna Whitener (incumbent) and Rhonda Haight (Post 2 incumbent);
•Post 1, Harold Herndon (incumbent) and Jack Taylor;
•Post 2, Mike Panter (Post 3 incumbent) and Angie Arp;
•Post 3, Brian Higgins and Christy Kay;
•Post 4, Richard Arnold, Dr. Bill Whaley, and Jacqueline Kiker Brown; and,
•Post 5, Nathan Fitts (incumbent) and Bill Bivins.
The General Election will take place Tuesday, November 2, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at city hall.
