The mother of a 3-year-old who attends Fannin County Headstart is upset that her daughter was able to choose a book to take home that promotes homosexuality and is also a political satire.

Adopt A Pet

“We were able to find good homes for many of our dogs this week,” said Fannin County Animal Control Officer JR Cornett. Officers brought in seven dogs and adopted out three. Owners reclaimed three while Doggone Rescue took two and P.A.W.S. Rescue took one.

Theater presents Wonderful Life for the holidays

The Blue Ridge Community Theater will be performing “It’s a Wonderful Life” as the main stage production for the holiday season.  The play will run November 21 through December 15 and curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Awake America needs winter coats

Awake America Prayer Meetings is asking for donations of warm winter wear for children. Needed items include gloves, scarves, coats, tights and socks. All children’s sizes are needed. Gently worn and smoke free coats will be accepted.
