Suspect charged with rape, kidnapping

Micah Todd Prince, 37, remained in the Fannin County jail this week, held without bond on charges of rape and kidnapping. Prince, of 895 Madola Road, Epworth, was denied bond April 10.  Prince was arrested in connection with an incident that allegedly took place in mid-December 2019.

Arts in the Park canceled

The 44th Annual Arts in the Park festival, scheduled for May 23 and 24, has been canceled.

Burglaries solved by arrest

Fannin County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Gary Edwards credits uniformed patrol deputies with gathering the information that led to a suspect’s arrest, solved four burglaries, and saw $2,200 in stolen merchandise recovered.

Health still main concern, but plan needed

The Georgia Department of Health has reported 16 cases of COVID-19 and no virus related deaths in Fannin County as of Sunday, April 19 at noon. According to the department, there are 18,301 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide.

15th case of COVID-19 reported in Fannin County

The Georgia Department of Health has reported 15 cases of COVID-19 and no virus related deaths in Fannin County as of Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. According to the department, there are 17,432 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide.
