Two would-be burglars learned that neighbors are watching out for each other when they allegedly attempted to steal items in the Jacks River area.
Logan Chad Jeffers, 19, of 1860 Highway 2, Blue Ridge, and Robert Lee Stacy, 17, of the same address, were arrested April 12 by Fannin County Sheriff’s Office deputies and charged with second degree burglary.
According to a report filed by Deputy Sheriff Brendan Jourdan, he responded to a call on Jacks River Road that two subjects were trying to steal a motorcycle from a building.
When he arrived, Deputy Sheriff John Kinser was already on the scene, a motorcycle was laying on the ground behind a pickup truck and there was a generator in the bed of the truck. The suspects were sitting on the tailgate.
A resident of the area told Jourdan he was driving down Foster Branch Road when he spotted two male suspects trying to steal a motorcycle from a building off Jacks River Road. He knew the owner of the building lived out of town.
The resident blocked the suspects’ truck with his vehicle, told them to stop and to turn their truck off. They then handed the resident the keys and waited for law enforcement to arrive.
