The 44th Annual Arts in the Park festival, scheduled for May 23 and 24, has been canceled.
“This was an extremely difficult decision and with the public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, in conjunction with state and local government regulations during this time, we at BRMAA (Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association) will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community,” a statement for BRMAA said.
The association is considering hosting a virtual festival as an alternative.
“We are working to provide a virtual Spring Arts in the Park festival, to not only serve our accepted artists with opportunities for online sales and exposure, but have our community to continue to support the arts in this difficult time,” the statement said.
