Trunk-or-treat planned in Benton

Ghosts and goblins are invited to journey around the mountain and across the lake to Benton, Tennessee, Halloween night for the second annual trunk-or-treat event. The annual Halloween fun is  sponsored by Polk County Clerk of Court Melissa Keith. Saturday, October 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 numbers decreasing in Fannin County

Fannin County has seen an increase of 66 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, October 19. This brings the county’s total up to 780 positive cases since the pandemic began. Twenty-eight of those people who had contracted the virus have died, and 68 have been hospitalized.

Gingerbread house builders invited to annual contest

Light Up Blue Ridge is calling all gingerbread house builders to enter Blue Ridge’s 4th Annual Gingerbread House Contest. Following judging, each house will be displayed in the Blue Ridge Gingerbread Village at the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association’s Art Center.

Feed Fannin buys local produce

This past June, Feed Fannin began purchasing needed produce from local farmers. Although the organization produced some 7,500 pounds of food in their own garden, more was, and is, needed in order to keep Fannin County Family Connection’s food pantry stocked.
