Zachary Welch, chairman of the McCaysville Revitalization Committee, provided the council a packet outlining the plans for the city park Tuesday, October 13.
The plans include refurbishing the existing maintenance and storage building and incorporating four pavilions throughout the park.
The maintenance and storage building calls for replacing any rotten wood, covering walls, gables, fascia boards, cornicing with concrete siding, removing the tin roof, roofing underlayment and ridge vent and replacing it with shingles.
Painting of the concrete siding and trim and incorporating gutters with a downspout is also needed.
As for the pavilions, they will all be built with the same materials.
Colors will be chosen at a later date.
From the packet, the pavilions show stacked rock posts up to 22 inches high.
The two larger pavilions will feature four electrical outlets and two fans with lights.
The smaller pavilions will have two outlets and one fan with lights.
The main pavilion will be 51 feet and 9 inches by 37 feet and 7 inches and will be 10 foot high.
The playground pavilion will be 30 feet and 8 inches long, and the roof will be slanted, beginning at 7 foot and 7 inches and inclining to 12 feet and 1.5 inches.
The octagon pavilion will be 28 feet and 3.5 inches by 28 feet and 3.5 inches and will be 17 feet and 2.375 inches high.
The dog park pavilion will be 16 feet and 6 inches by 15 feet and will be 12 feet and 11 inches high.
“All the concrete is in place for these four pavilions,” Welch said during the meeting.
Delmos Stone of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission is reviewing the documents, he told, and once the price estimates come in, a request for bids will be issued, which Stone will assist City Clerk Nancy Godfrey with.
“It will be very easy for a contractor to get started on these pavilions,” Welch said.
