Copperhill water and sewer customers, both commercial and residential, can expect to see their rates increase on their November bill, said City Clerk Amber Brooks.

Sosebee sentenced for 2018 traffic crash

Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver specifically explained how she was bound by the jury’s verdict and the law prior to sentencing Eddie Allen Sosebee in connection with the death of Clifton Ray Deal the day after Christmas in 2018.
The Humane Society of Blue Ridge cat of the week is Zip. This five-month-old cutie may look so innocent, but behind those sparkling eyes is a little guy with a whole lot of energy! The ulti-mutt companion is waiting at Fannin County Animal Control. This past week, two dogs were taken in while three were adopted, and one was reclaimed! No rescues took any dogs this past week. All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.

The Fannin County Lady Rebel softball team held the Pepperell Dragons to just one run in their region game Thursday, September 30. Unfortunately, the Lady Rebels could not score to tie the game or win, as Fannin fell to the Lady Dragons in a close 1-0 defeat.

The Copper Basin Cougars put on a 46-25 thumping of district rival the Lookout Valley Yellow Jackets. The Cougars received the ball to start the game at their own 34-yard line.
