Tour of Trees returns to help Shop With a Cop

Linda Cole and her staff at Serenity in the Mountains are once again getting behind Shop With A Cop to make sure less fortunate Fannin County children have a merry Christmas. For the second year in a row, Serenity in the Mountains is hosting its Tour of Trees.

Three years of funding approved for fish hatchery

The Chattahoochee National Forest Fish Hatchery on Rock Creek has been funded for three more years thanks to an agreement between state and federal agencies. A news release from Melissa Cummings of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said the funding agreement was reached October 15.

Adopt A Pet

The need for volunteers at Fannin County Animal Control is great. Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours, and any donations are always appreciated. All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.
