West Fannin Elementary School teacher Cayley Hamilton’s partnership with Snack in a Backpack has led her to create a non-profit that will enrich the lives of children in Fannin County for years to come.

Cougars lose hard fought battle to Polk

The Copper Basin Cougars squared off with the Polk County Wildcats Thursday, December 3. The teams battled back and forth, but the Wildcats managed to squeak by with a 55-52 win.

Fannin history lives on through Jones, Dyer

One traveled halfway across the country to make Fannin County home while the other came from just up the road in Union County. Together they formed a team that became the backbone of collecting and maintaining local history.

Blue Ridge planners oppose short-term rental

A request for a Special Land Use Permit to allow short-term rentals was recommended for denial by the Blue Ridge Planning Commission Tuesday, December 1. The commission voted 4-1 to deny the request with opposition from Mark Engledow.
