West Fannin Elementary School students are now able to continue learning new academic lessons outside of the classroom thanks to the gym’s new Lu Interactive Playground. Athletics, academics combine at WFES

West Fannin Elementary School students and teachers are excited to start incorporating more academics into athletic time in the gym now that the school is officially home to a Lu Interactive Playground.
The Humane Society of Blue Ridge cat of the week is Lew. He is a 10-month-old tuxedo cat and is always dressed for success! Lew is a playful little guy who loves people and gets along well with other cats. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. McCaysville officer nabs federal fugitive

A fugitive being hunted by U.S. Marshals is in custody as the result of a traffic stop by a McCaysville police officer. Hugh Britt Hurley, 48, of Farner Road in Polk County, was being sought  by federal authorities on a failure to appear warrant from a drug trafficking charge.
