Mineral Springs Park earns Gold Level Certification

“How exciting it is from an extension agent standpoint that Master Gardeners took this, ran with it and created something, an outdoor laboratory where we can have lessons and engage young people and old people alike,” Fannin County Extension Agent Ashley Hoppers said of Mineral Springs Park.

Fannin students join National Honor Society

Fannin County High School inducted several students into the National Honor Society by way of a virtual ceremony Monday, May 4. “These students are the role models for student body,” NHS Sponsor Angela Patterson said.

Wild Side, LLC. is not a well known company in the area, but they are responsible for some very intricate work. The company specializes in creating custom motor homes and trailers, but their latest project involved creating protective helmets for Fannin County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

The Fannin County School System will receive $721,600 in COVID-19 relief funds after the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) applied for and received $411,452,867 through the Education Stabilization Fund Program Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.

Fannin graduation plans announced

Fannin County High School intends to hold a traditional, but modified, graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 at the school’s stadium Friday, May 22, at 8 p.m. “I would love nothing more than to have our full traditional graduation ceremony at FCHS on May 22,” Principal Erik Cioffi said.
