MACA can receive Georgia witholding tax

Give money and get it back in return. By redirecting Georgia’s withholding tax to Mountain Area Christian Academy (MACA) through the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc., instead of giving it to the state, folks will receive a Georgia education expense tax credit for the filing year.

The last Friday of September, 2019, Fannin County Family Connection was busy moving into their new facility. This year, on the last Friday of September, September 25, the organization held a lunch in honor of the volunteers who’ve spent countless hours helping the residents of the county.

Missing man found in McCaysville

A McCaysville resident became concerned when noticing an elderly man asleep in a vehicle near the end of East Tennessee Avenue close to the city’s water plant. The following phone call to police ended with a happy reunion between the man and his family members.

Basin schools update COVID-19 plan

Copper Basin schools have an updated algorithm from the Tennessee Department of Health for dealing with individuals in the school system who are suspected of having come in contact with the COVID-19 virus.
