The majority of Fannin County first responders will now receive hazard pay after the Fannin County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to pay it during a regular meeting Tuesday, November 24, held via teleconference in order to limit the potential spread of COVID-19.

Christmas in Ducktown is sure to bring cheer Saturday, December 5. With live music beginning at 4 p.m. and a parade at 6 p.m., the evening will be full of Christmas spirit. Local businesses will provide free refreshments, including, but not limited to, coffee and hot chocolate, beginning at 5 p.m.

Humane society event Dec. 1

Humane Society of Blue Ridge’s Giving Tuesday event is December 1 at 8 a.m. To participate, visit their Facebook page that day and make a donation. In the past, Facebook has agreed to match funds raised up to a certain amount. Last year, that number was $7 million.
