A large crowd gathered Sunday, January 30, for the re-introduction ceremony of the Daffodil Garden Memorial next to the children’s playground in the downtown Blue Ridge city park. The Blue Ridge Daffodil Garden was originally dedicated November 10, 2013, as a memorial to the 1.5 million child victims of the Holocaust.

Long-time president of the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce Jan Hackett was awarded “Our Conservation Hero” by the local Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited (BRMTU) chapter for her commitment to the cold-water conservation of the Toccoa River and her years of support.
