JAN HACKETT HONORED BY TROUT UNLIMITED

Long-time president of the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce Jan Hackett was awarded “Our Conservation Hero” by the local Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited (BRMTU) chapter for her commitment to the cold-water conservation of the Toccoa River and her years of support. The award was presented at the Back the Brookies Winter Bash Saturday, January 29. She is shown with BRMTU member and event coordinator Bob Borgwart.

Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited member Bob Borgwart, left, reminded attendees of the Back the Brookies Winter Bash that District 7 Representative and Speaker of the Georgia House David Ralston, right, was instrumental in the designation of Fannin County as the official Trout Capital of Georgia and the Blue Ridge Trout and Outdoor Adventures Festival, or Trout Fest for short, Georgia’s Official Trout Festival. This years Trout Fest will be held April 30.
