Fecal matter found in Fannin water

A regular Fannin County Water Authority meeting Wednesday, July 8, revealed that fecal matter has been found in purchased water. Purchased water comes from the Blue Ridge and Morganton systems.

Before Blue Ridge Community Theater (BRCT) moved to their current location on East First Street, it was rooted into Hampton Square right next to Blue Jeans Pizza, now Blue Jeans Pizza and Pasta Factory.

COVID-19 has been shown to contribute to substance abuse and suicide, according to the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
American Property Restoration, who specialize in COVID-19 sanitation and cleaning, were out at the Fannin County Courthouse Thursday, July 9, cleaning up after multiple employees reported that they were exhibiting symptoms of the virus.

Blue Ridge council expresses opposite views on park opening

Mixed opinions over opening Blue Ridge’s downtown park were expressed at a City of Blue Ridge Council workshop Tuesday, July 7. Councilman Nathan Fitts said that he has heard outrage come from some citizens due to the fact that it is closed and that he would like to open it to the public.
