Before Blue Ridge Community Theater (BRCT) moved to their current location on East First Street, it was rooted into Hampton Square right next to Blue Jeans Pizza, now Blue Jeans Pizza and Pasta Factory.
Today, where the stage and audience would have been, Blue Jeans’ main dining area occupies the space for customers.
“Recently, Blue Jeans needed an 8-foot-high, 12-foot-long wall to separate seating. Ken Brenneman, owner of the restaurant, suggested it be a partnership for marketing the theater,” Joseph Nicolella, BRCT production manager, said.
“BRCT’s set builders built and installed the wall. Now, there is a 4 foot by 12 foot banner on the wall with both our logos and the statement ‘Blue Jeans Pizza and Pasta, the former home of the Blue Ridge Community Theater from 2003 to 2009.’”
The wall also features three 2 foot by 3 foot framed posters of the theater’s upcoming shows.
“Tens of thousands of people, locals and tourists eat at Blue Jeans each year and will now know it was BRCT’s former home and view our live theater and live music programs. This will lead to more tickets sold when we re-open. It will help insure the future of live performing arts in our community,” Nicolella said.
