Applications being accepted for heating help

Fannin County’s North Georgia Community Action, Inc. Service Center is currently taking applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program for homebound and elderly households throughout the month of November.

Fannin Regional Auxiliary begins Love Light drive

The Fannin Regional Hospital Auxiliary has kicked off its annual Love Light project. Starting November 1, donors have the opportunity to honor or memorialize someone through the fundraising effort that benefits the auxiliary’s scholarship fund.

Linda Cole and her staff at Serenity in the Mountains are once again getting behind Shop With A Cop to make sure less fortunate Fannin County children have a merry Christmas. For the second year in a row, Serenity in the Mountains is hosting its Tour of Trees.

Three years of funding approved for fish hatchery

The Chattahoochee National Forest Fish Hatchery on Rock Creek has been funded for three more years thanks to an agreement between state and federal agencies. A news release from Melissa Cummings of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said the funding agreement was reached October 15.
