Haight elected Blue Ridge mayor

City of Blue Ridge voters decided it is time for change and voted in a new mayor and five new council members during the Tuesday, November 2, General Election.
The Humane Society of Blue Ridge cat of the week is Colby. He is two years old and has an orange coat with gorgeous swirl patterns. Colby is an easy-going guy who gets along well with his suitemates. Adopt A Pet

Snuggle up with a good book and a furry companion from Fannin County Animal Control this fall. All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted. This past week, 10 dogs were taken in, one was reclaimed and two were adopted.

Super Bowl Champs

The first annual Super Bowl for Girls Flag Football was held Saturday, October 30, in Lumpkin County, and the Fannin County Lady Rebels made history as the very first winner in the Mountain Athletic Conference sponsored sport.

Fannin cross country teams shine at region meet

The Fannin County Rebel and Lady Rebel Cross Country teams recently competed in the GHSA Region 7AA Championship Tuesday, October 26, at Pepperell High School. Both the Lady Rebels and Rebels shined, as the Lady Rebels claimed first place and the Rebels brought home second place.

Rebels remain undefeated in region play

The Fannin County Rebels topped Coosa 37-7 to remain undefeared in Region 7AA Friday, October 29. The Rebels defense was lights out against the Eagles, as Fannin held Coosa to just 40 total yards. The Rebels offense was explosive as well, gaining 337 yards on the evening.
