Arts in the Park back on schedule for May 29 and 30

It’s official, the Spring Arts in the Park festival is happening May 29 and 30 in downtown Blue Ridge park. The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association (BRMAA) announced Sunday, March 14, that the festival will move forward following COVID-19 guidelines.

$206,000 approved for repairs

A City of Blue Ridge lift station will be abandoned, and $206,349.23 is being spent on water and sewer repairs and improvements as a result of a Tuesday, March 9, council decision. Councilman Nathan Fitts expressed a desire to close the lift station near CVS and reroute it to Industrial Park.

“It’s not a scam,” Fannin County Sheriff Dane Kirby assures residents receiving letters from the Georgia Sheriff’s Association with his name on them. Kirby said last week the association is currently conducting its annual drive seeking honorary members.
