Fannin County has seen an additional 10 cases of COVID-19 in the last week.
This brings the county’s total up to 2,022 positive cases since the pandemic began. As of Monday, March 22, 51 of those people who had contracted the virus have died, 10 probable deaths have been reported and 164 have been hospitalized.
In comparison, last week the county had seen 2,012 positive cases total as of Monday, March 15. Fifty of those people who had contracted the virus had died, 11 probable deaths had been reported and 163 had been hospitalized.
Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,903 students, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, 25 are quarantined due to exposure at school and less than 10 are quarantined due to non-school exposure. There are currently 352 students enrolled in online learning that do not attend in-person classes.
Of the 472 system employees, less than 10 have a positive COVID-19 status and none are quarantined due to an exposure at school or a non-school exposure.
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported that Georgia has seen 843,675 confirmed cases, 16,171 virus related deaths, 2,385 probable deaths, 57,961 hospitalizations and 9,484 ICU admissions. Of these, 542 confirmed cases, 26 deaths and 29 hospitalizations were reported March 22.
In comparison, last week the state had seen 836,344 confirmed cases and 15,918 virus related deaths.
Eligible Fannin County residents are able to make appointments for COVID-19 vaccination at the Fannin County Health Department through the North Georgia Health District (NGHD) at this time. As of Monday, March 22, the North Georgia Health District moved all registration for COVID-19 vaccination appointments to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) online portal.

As of Monday, there had been 10,461 vaccinations administered in Fannin County, and 3,207,113 had been administered statewide. The county’s number included 7,124 of Dose 1 vaccinations and 3,337 of Dose 2.
Statewide, 1,536 providers were shipped vaccines and 3,958,765 total vaccines had been shipped. As of Monday, 81% of that amount had been administered.
According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 29,828,516 confirmed cases and 542,441 deaths.
