Wild Side, LLC. is not a well known company in the area, but they are responsible for some very intricate work. The company specializes in creating custom motor homes and trailers, but their latest project involved creating protective helmets for Fannin County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

The Spring Arts in the Park will happen virtually this year. Beginning Friday, May 15, artists and vendors will have their products displayed on www.blueridgeartsinthepark.com. Anyone interested may visit the website to get an idea of what the actual festival might have featured.

Fannin schools to receive $721,600

The Fannin County School System will receive $721,600 in COVID-19 relief funds after the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) applied for and received $411,452,867 through the Education Stabilization Fund Program Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.

Fannin County High School intends to hold a traditional, but modified, graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 at the school’s stadium Friday, May 22, at 8 p.m. “I would love nothing more than to have our full traditional graduation ceremony at FCHS on May 22,” Principal Erik Cioffi said.

GDOT taking property for Highway 5 work

The Georgia Department of Transportation has begun the process of condemning property for their Highway 5 improvement projects.  At this time, there are four properties that are set to be condemned in order to complete the project.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, community members have reached out to serve anyone in need. Donna Moriarty is doing her part one stitch at a time. Moriarty began making masks near the beginning of March after hearing of teachers needing masks to deliver food and classwork to students.
