Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

An early morning traffic stop on Highway 515 in Blue Ridge has resulted in the arrest of a Blue Ridge woman in connection with 14.55 grams of methamphetamine.

Highland Outdoor Ministry celebrates with largest event

Skateboarders flew through the air at the Highland Outdoor Ministry’s Shred Fest on Saturday, July 26. For the beginner, intermediate and expert skateboarders in the competition, this day represented the result of “months” of preparation, Austin Leach, the ministry’s director, said.
The Walk the Line 5k drew a record 343 registrations for this year’s race. The race is one of three annual events in the Riverwalk Run Series.

The Fannin County School System’s fourth annual Back to School Bash will be held this Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the New Gym at Fannin County High School (FCHS).

Mayor says plant upgrades will handle growth

New machinery will allow the Blue Ridge Wastewater Treatment Facility  to “handle any future growth,” said the plant’s superintendent, James Weaver.
