An early morning traffic stop on Highway 515 in Blue Ridge has resulted in the arrest of a Blue Ridge woman in connection with 14.55 grams of methamphetamine.
Amanda Nicole Davenport, 37, of 71 Elm Street, Blue Ridge, is charged with two felonies, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance With Intent to Distribute; and two misdemeanors, Possession of Drug Related Objects and Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce.
According to a report filed by Blue Ridge Police Officer C.J. Townsend, who arrested Davenport, he observed a red Buick LeSabre traveling northeast on Highway 515 shortly before 4 a.m. Friday, July 25. A check of the license tag found it to be revoked.
Townsend performed a traffic stop on Highway 515 near McKinney Road.
While talking to the driver and Davenport, Townsend detected the smell of marijuana. Subsequent searches turned up a small amount of marijuana and the methamphetamine.
Davenport was ordered to be held in the Fannin County Jail without bond.
The driver was given warnings for traffic violations and released.
