Mr. William Howard Dean, age 83, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his residence.

A son of the late Harold E. Dean Sr., and Mary Viola Adams Dean Buchanan, he was born February 6, 1939, in Blue Ridge, having lived most of his life in Toccoa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne 325 Honor Guard. He owned and operated his own insurance agency for many years and was a member of Lamar Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Barron Dean in 2014 and Richard Dean in 2015.

Survivors include his wife, of the home, Sandra Ballew Dean; son, Michael Dean, of Toccoa; grandchildren, Christian Dean, Jada Dean and Karli Dean; great-grandson, Sawyer Barron Dean; brother, Charles Daniel Buchanan, of Suwanee, Georgia; and sister, Sarah Eulene Breedlove, of Loganville, Georgia.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 27, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Chad Holcomb officiating. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Christian Dean, Mark Parris, Mike Trautner, Mike Dean, Dalton Duke, Lee Malone and David Bell.

Graveside services were Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Chastain Memorial Park, 4360 Old Highway 76, Blue Ridge, with The Reverend Matt Fisher officiating and Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Blue Ridge, is in charge of the arrangements.
