Kenneth Daniel Boring, age 85, of Turtletown, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

He was born in the Liberty Community of Cherokee County, North Carolina,  August 6, 1937, to the late Willard Boring and Annie Worley Boring.

Kenneth served in the United States Air Force as a mechanic.

Later he retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company, where he worked on the Planning Commission and as Maintenance Foreman.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jimmie Ruth “Peewee” Boring; and brother, James Boring.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Oliver Black; grandson and his spouse, Michael and Kira Black; brothers, Ricky Boring and Steve Boring; and sisters, Jeana Williamson, Joyce Lunsford, Joann Arrington, and Shelby Nichols.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Thomas officiating.

Music was provided by Lily Whitener. Military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment followed at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Benny Ensley officiating.

Pallbearers were Chad Boring, Cody Boring, Brian Allen, Russell Towl, James Millholland, and Chuck Hickey.
