Tommy Rogers

Mr. Tommy Gene Rogers, age 70, of Mineral Bluff, GA,  passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his home following an extended illness.

Tommy was born January 3, 1952, in Mineral Bluff, to the late Hoyt and Hazel Flowers Rogers. He loved bowling, being outdoors and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Sweet Gum Masonic Lodge F&AM #542, the Yaarab Temple in Atlanta and New Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Phil) Haney of China Grove, NC; Sharlene (Don) Stiles of Murphy; Sherry (Danny) Pierce of Blue Ridge; brothers, Wayne Rogers and Blaine Rogers both of Mineral Bluff and Jimmy Rogers of Ellijay; his girlfriend, Janet Smith of Mineral Bluff; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services were  held Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home  Chapel with Rev. Raymond Byers officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bud Ross, Henry Raper, Ernest Rogers, Lynn Shields, Craig Flowers and Charles Flowers.

Interment will follow in the Rogers Family Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 16 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers make memorial donations to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. We wish to thank Pruitt Hospice for their special care and kindness.
