Sue Ann (Tucker) Stalgis passed away April 20, 2022.

Sue Ann Williams was born in McCaysville to James H. and Aleen (Mull) Williams April 11,1946.

She was raised in a large family filled with aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved grandparents, William Thomas (“Boss”) and Ethel Roberson Mull. Prior to her high school graduation, Sue Ann was forced to withdraw. She was especially proud of earning her GED as an adult in Washington State. She furthered her education, excelling in the study of Early Childhood Education at Edmonds Community College.

Over the course of many years, Sue held various jobs; due to the force of her work ethic and personality, she ended up working in numerous managerial positions, thus highlighting her organizational and people skills. Such jobs included retail clothing sales, long-term residential facilities, and lastly, as program director at the Kings Temple Christian Daycare in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

It was during the 1980s that Sue met the man who would become the love of her life, Peter Stalgis. Sue and Peter enjoyed a blended family: Tisha (Rob) Serpa; Anthony Stalgis; Bruce (Sharon) Tucker; Tammy (Guy) Forgey; Jason (Sarah) Tucker; Matthew (Sarah) Stalgis; and Angela (Bryan) Nelson, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom adored and loved their Granny Sue.

Sue was also blessed with siblings: Tommy (Carol) Sharp; Johnny (Brenda) Scearce; Mike (Yevette) Scearce; Martha Shope; Mike Williams; and Jeff (Sharlene) Williams, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

One of Sue’s greatest passions was traveling with her husband Peter. They visited places Sue had only dreamed of:  England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, and Hawaii, where she could spend hours watching and listening to the ocean. However, her favorite location, much to her English husband’s chagrin, was Scotland.

Sue survived kidney failure and a successful kidney transplant. Sadly, this left her with a compromised immune system, which invariably led to a battle with COVID-19. Though she fought valiantly, Sue ultimately lost her battle  April 20, 2022. She was surrounded by loving family who were able to be present. Sue’s wish was that her human remains be cremated in knowledge that her soul would enjoy a life ever-after.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Williams, nephew Dylan Sharp, and most recently, her beloved son, Bruce Tucker.
