Shirley Mae Ray passed away Friday, December 20, 2019. She was born in McCaysville to the late J.C. Ray and Amanda Ray and was raised in the McCaysville and Blue Ridge area. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C Ray and Amanda Ray; and sisters, Eva Jean Scism and Mary Maxine Fuller.
Shirley received a masters degree in education from the University of Georgia and later taught school in Hampton, Georgia. She was an exceptionally kind and loving woman who will be missed very much by her friends and family.
Graveside services were held Friday, December 27, 2019, at Chastain Memorial Park in Blue Ridge.
