Sherry Barnes Guinn, age 71, of Blue Ridge passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022.

She was born March 2, 1951 in McCaysville, Georgia to the late Roland Lee Barnes and Mary Ruth Tranthem Barnes.

Sherry was retired from Dr. Raymond Tidmam’s office at Riverstone Medical Campus. She was an extremely faithful, lifelong member of Friendship #3 Baptist Church serving as piano player, ordering music, keeping all church and financial records, and served as Sunday School teacher.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and sons, “Jamey” Jameson Shawn Guinn and Shannon Robert Guinn.

Survivors are siblings, Kathy Barnes Chastain (Billy Wayne) of McCaysville,  Randall Lee Barnes (Barbara) of Ocoee, Tennessee, Rochelle Barnes Brann (Rick) of Franklin, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Teresa Guinn of Ducktown; nieces and nephews, Melanie Chastain Curtis (David), Eric Chastain (Dana), Stacie Chastain (Stacy) Nicholson, Brandon Barnes, Weston Brann (Kerri), Reagan Brann and Christian Brann; great-nieces and nephews, Heath Curtis, Seth Curtis, Morgan Chastain, Madison Franklin, Urban Brann, Chapel Brann and Harley Brann; and great-great niece and nephew, Mia Curtis and Deacon Curtis.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 1 p.m. from Friendship #3 Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Dilbeck and the Rev. Weston Brann officiating. Music was by the Friendship #3 Baptist Church Choir and Missy Taylor. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Heath Curtis, Seth Curtis, Christian Brann, Eric Chastain, Stacy Nicholson, David Curtis, Wesley Chastain and Jerry Chastain. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Barnes, Tony Key, Michael Green, Marty Godfrey, Kerry Plemmons, Jerry Ramsey, James Chastain, Terry Ramsey and Don Mahan.
